About Holiday Club
Our Holiday Club at Zac’s Club, opened in February 2019, and operates up to five days each week during each of the school holidays. We’re open every week of the school holidays with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year and bank holidays. We do give priority to children who already attend Zac’s Club at Riccall and Escrick, however we do have enough places to accept other children too, and have been delighted to welcome children from Cawood, Stilling fleet, Kelfield, Cliffe, Selby and beyond.
The Holiday Club is managed by our Escrick and Riccall Managers – Levi and Lauren, and they love working with all the children so much, they want to come back for more during the holidays! They are also assisted by the staff teams at both Zac’s Club Riccall, and Escrick who provide a fabulous service, and know many of the children attending from seeing them at before and After School Club. All of our staff hold a current Paediatric First Aid certificate, and are dedicated to a career in childcare. Most of our team are qualified to at least Level 3 in childcare or higher, and those who do not have this gold standard qualification, are offered the opportunity to study for it while they work with support from Zac’s Club and our training provider.
We have established a great relationship with both schools, and work to complement the curriculum that they work to in providing a home from home atmosphere, an opportunity to learn, have fun, and also relax. During the holidays we want to continue the fun and excitement and offer days that give children lots to talk about when they get home. It is important that parents and carers get the reassurance that their children are not missing out whilst they are at work, and that they are in a safe and caring environment.
Our resources include pool and football tables, a large collection of Lego, Board Games, Den Building equipment, Bats and balls, Craft materials, hex bugs, iPad, dressing up and much more. We always welcome suggestions of favourite things to play with, and continue to extend our offering. We also make great use of the outdoors, having the use of the school grounds, and use of the school pool during the summer holidays, but also plan trips out in the village or to Hagges Wood in the minibus, depending on the size of group.
Open from 8.00am until 6.00pm (£43 a day – £5 extra on swim days during the summer holidays), we have the option of either the full day, or a short day 9.00am – 4.30pm (£36 a day – £5 extra on swim days during the summer holidays) depending on what you need hot meals will be included. Registering for the club is free, and bookings are made online. You will receive an email confirmation/invoice as soon as you make the booking which must be paid within 7 days of receipt. Once booked, we are not able to offer cancellations or swap sessions. Bookings for Holiday Club open at least one month in advance of the school holidays, but you can email ruth@zacsclub.co.uk before bookings open to express an interest, and you will be sent the link as soon as bookings open as it’s first come, first served. Children just need to bring suitable clothing, and a hat and sun cream in the summer, or wellies and a coat in the wetter, colder months, along with their packed lunch. Snacks and drinks are provided throughout the day.
